enjoy! this was done on 4 decks and a mixer with effects unit. I looped some parts, it's mostly 90s, please listen and tell me what you think.
I like it. I actually started mixing with hip hop way back in 2002. Very primative stuff, but I may still have those mixes around here. 90's hip hop is my favorite for that type of mixing.
lol as you can tell there, i've not mixed this stuff in years. I just love cutting/scratching and all that stuff. Found all those records in my loft and thought i should spin them.
Awesome mix. I'm not nearly as ambidextrus as you are (particularly with the fader). I'm getting better at cuts though. I liked the selection a lot; you know how to pick your R&B (coming from someone who isn't an R&B fan). I now know how much I need to kcatch up on mid-late 80s stuff. I'm working on a mix now. I have records in the queue, but I'm probably going to do some computer mixing. Don't hate; I don't have much money.
I was writing while listening. YOu seem to have doubles of *everything*. Impressive. Oh well... serato will fix that (apparently it's accessible).
It is accessable, i just can't get my head around it.
lol if i like a track, i get 2 coppies if i can so i can do stuff like that. There are a few tracks on there i actually have 3 or 4 coppies of, so am gonna have a big clearout soon.
A lot of djs hate on those that use computers and stuff, but your just dj-ing with what you can use really, which is fair enough. The only think i have issues with is i-pod mixing. That's just stupid, in my opinion.
Difficult too. Not only do you have to buy two iPods, but also a $200 2-channel mixer (if you really want those special iPod dock connectors). Of course regular 2-channel mixer would work fine. The only way I can think to seek through a song is by double tapping and holding the previous/next buttons (sighted users just hold). Anyway it's all pointless because VO ducks the volume every few seconds, and it's difficult finding the next/prev buttons without it. For those not using VO there are cheaper options. DJ Mix Pro is 20 euro. If you have a laptop you get the same effect (with better features) for less money.
dj mix pro is crap. You can't scratch, at all, you can hardly blend, all my shit sounded way out of time... anyway lol
I, personally hate most computer stuff. That ots scratch thing's alrite if you have everything on cds, and that serato looks cool, but that does require talent, thank god. I just hate that music in general has become full of these crappy djs armed with i-pods, that probbably think scratching is what djs do to win the lottery.
